About Tommy Echols

Tommy Echols was born and raised in Baytown, Texas, where he graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and later earned two associate degrees from Lee College. Driven by a deep calling to serve others, Tommy pursued ministry, completing a Bachelor of Ministry in Christian Education and Psychology.

Over the years, Tommy has pastored churches in multiple Texas communities and played a vital role in establishing police chaplaincy programs in Sinton, Pasadena, and South Houston. He has walked alongside officers during ride-alongs, counseled them through personal and professional challenges, and built programs that uplift morale and support families in times of need.

While serving in ministry and chaplaincy, Tommy also helped grow his father’s maritime business, eventually launching his own with his son-in-law. His business leadership has been marked by strong financial management, operational leadership, and a commitment to balancing service with real-world business experience.

Tommy’s dedication to community leadership extends to Pearland, where he has served on the Board of Directors at Golfcrest Country Club for seven years. His work in finance, drainage, long-range planning, and fundraising has led to significant infrastructure improvements — including a large-scale drainage project that created a new lake and improved flood flow across the course.

For the past year and a half, Tommy has also served on the City of Pearland’s Planning and Zoning Committee, helping guide responsible development and growth across the city.

Tommy and his wife, Patty, are active members of Grace Community Church. He is a proud husband, father to five daughters, and grandfather to eleven grandchildren.
